Hold for 24 hours
Pick a bed and click Hold. No one else can book it for the next 24 hours while you talk to your guardian and check the place out.
Add your guardian
Optional at signup, soft-required at booking. Owner sees a verified guardian contact on the booking record.
Pay deposit
M-Pesa or card. The hold becomes a confirmed booking; you get a digital receipt and a booking ID.
Move in
Show up on your move-in date. The owner scans your booking ID at check-in. From there you pay rent on the agreed cycle.
Rate after check-out
Only students with a confirmed, checked-out booking can review. No fake stars, no anonymous spam.
Roll over for next sem
30 days before semester end, we ask if you want the same bed next semester. One tap to keep it.
Refund before check-in
Cancel before you check in and we refund the full deposit minus a small hold fee. Plans change — we get it.
Verified owners only
Owners pass national ID + proof-of-ownership before they can take payouts. No payouts means no incentive to ghost you.
Disputes get answered
If something goes wrong, open a dispute and a real person from Bweni answers within 72 hours.
Waitlist if it's full
Hostel you wanted is full? Join the waitlist. When a bed frees up you get 2 hours to claim it before the next student in line.
